Initiation
Geek guide to life is the result of a single train of thought experienced on July 27th, 2006 by one lone Business Systems Analyst, Webcrafter, and Metaphysical Store owner.
One, you say? It sounds like three. (Geeks are specific) I'm a double-gemini, which means both my sun and moon are in gemini, plus I am an identical twin. This double-on-double-on-double birth set me up for a number of roles, careers and interests.
The train of thought went straight down the tracks like this: "Hmm, I’m out of shape. I need to make some adjustments in my life to allow for a spiritual practice, too. My stinky corporate job has actually taught me a lot about myself and working with other people. There are articles on the internet covering all these things, but not from a uniquely geek perspective. I could write an article from a geek perspective so geeks could grok things like diet, exercise, spirituality, etc."
"Heck, I could add it to my metaphysical store blog. But some of the stuff is unrelated." Then the little train-of-thought that could jumped from the track, and instead of rolling down the canyon, swiftly obtained war speed, " I know, I could just start a new blog and geeks would flock, waddle, or stumble to it!"
"That’s it! I wonder if I can find a good URL."
2 hours later on my lunch break: Hmm. GeekLife.com is taken. But hey, it’s not so much about my life as the way I’d like to be and what I’m learning and the perspective of living life as a true geek. Hey! look at that, geekguidetolife is available.
So here we are. Welcome fellow geek.
